Obama Approval: Still Plummeting
Rasmussen reports that Obama's approval / disapproval ratings have hit new lows and highs, respectively. Rasmussen reports:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.
But wait - there's more!
Maybe Americans, as the New Year approaches, are looking back on what's St. Barack has accomplished in his first year as President and they're coming to know that Obama is clearly the worst president in American history. Another poll result showed that a surprising number of Americans actually wished Bush were president again:
Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited.
So I guess Americans are finally realizing that rising unemployment and continuing economic stagnation are the result of Obama's job-killing policies. Obama can't keep on blaming it on Bush or 'fat cat bankers' any more -- he's got to grow up and move to the center politically. I doubt he'll do it, however. He's on course for a one term presidency.
And yet, Obama is still pushing for healthcare 'reform' -- a bill that (according to the Rasmussen poll) most Americans don't want.
As the health care plan struggles in the Senate, public opposition remains stable. Fifty-six percent (56% ) oppose the plan working its way through Congress while just 40% favor it. In Nevada, the health care bill is causing problems for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s bid for re-election.
Also of note in Rasmussen's polling was proof positive that we're hardly in a post-racial America:
The President earns approval from 37% of White voters and 98% of African-American voters.
I'm guessing the one third of white people would be the extreme left and the remaining independents who haven't yet realized voting for Obama was a colossal mistake.
