A Prayer for Ryan
A quick personal announcement: my best friend Will's wife recently gave birth to an adorable baby boy named Ryan. He was born a few weeks early, and in all likelihood he's going to be an NFL linebacker, but please say a prayer for the little guy. They had to drain one of his lungs with a needle today, which can't be easy for his parents to see.
I'm sure it's just a hiccup, but when it's your child why take chances?
So please, send some massive divine mojo in Ryan's direction. We want an entire battalion of guardian angels for this kid. Do it now.
Because I know where you live. :)
Thanks in advance,
-K.

Not sure what I can say except that our prayers go out for good health and normal growth.
It is never easy to watch a child in pain, no matter the severity. And the more vunerable, the more uncertain things are, the anxiety is worse than the pain. On the bright side of things, the live birth hurdle has been surpassed, and that's a big, big milestone. It sounds like the Doctors know what they are doing, which ought to help stay some of the anxiety.

According to Will, Ryan was moved to ICU and is doing a little bit better.
Thanks to everyone for their prayers.

I don't think he's home just yet, but he's doing better. And here's a picture of him:
My younger sister and I are convinced that Ryan looks more like his mother.
Which is great news, as his father is fairly troglodytic. (I keed, I keed!)
