RIP Michael Jackson
Sad news. Michael Jackson the undisputed King of Pop and accused pedaphile died yesterday at the age of 50. Reports are that the pop singer suffered cardiac arrest brought on by drug use. It's always sad when someone dies at that young an age. Jackson behaved incredible weirdly as he aged, naming all his children 'Prince' and 'Blanket', dangling one of them out a window at one point. He also underwent extensive plastic surgeries to transform himself from being a black man to a white Asian woman.
Despite all this, Jackson undeniably transformed his industry. Besides selling more records than anyone else, Jackson is also credited with bringing musical stagecraft to a whole new level. Whereas musicians used to simple play their instruments and sing their lyrics while they were filmed, Jackons transformed concerts into events.
I hope he's moonwalking through the Pearly Gates.
*sigh*
Jimoneh.

Aye carumba, Lucas, Coppola collaborting with MJ? What a poster-image find!
RIP. Amazing that he was on top of the world with Thriller 25 years ago.

I thought it strange he died at 50. Sounds like his possible cocaine addiction caught up with him. He did get caught once with it. And he was abusing prescription meds along with some alledged alcohol abuse.
So I'll bet that his autopsy report will calrify it, but it will be read as natural causes at a news conference.
Anywa, I wasn't a huge fan of him, but I can't say I didn't like some of his songs. And I think the sing "Man in the Mirror" was about himself.
Two good posts on MJ from Andrew Breitbart and James Hudnall.
My thoughts:
The man definitely had some demons in his past. Talent aside, those seem to be what most people know and remember him for. Being raised Jehovah's Witness and being thrust into the world of celebrity I think was a big factor in allowing those demons to grow and take hold.
As for his trial, I think that his acquittal was meant to save his life. It's common knowledge that the code of the incarcerated does not look highly on crimes against children. Even hardened criminals have standards, apparently. I think those 12 in his jury didn't like the prospect of being the ones that would be blamed for "killing Michael Jackson" and decided to take a pass. It probably helped that the inconsistencies in Jordy Chandler's story were also a major contributor.
In the end, the emotional tolls he had taken throughout his life finally caught up with him. You can't tell me that all of that stress and pressure is a healthy thing to live with. And even though he is gone, I fear for the lives of his children. The ridicule and scrutiny that followed their father is going to follow them as well, even though they're as young as they are.
For his soul's sake, I hope he found forgiveness before it was too late, but realistically, I have my doubts.
Such a sad ending to a troubled life. And the circus has only begun...
The official autopsy details on Jackson's body have been leaked, and some of the details are very sad. One, he had almost no hair left. Second, his stomach's contents were all pills in various stages of semi-digestion. There was no food in this poor man's stomach -- just pills. He weighed only 112 pounds and there were needle marks all over his body.
What a horrible tragedy for anyone to die (let alone live) in that condition.
I had a discussion with a co-worker last week about Jackson's life and death. I wondered why no one in Jackson's family intervened, why no one stopped him or got him some help. She replied, "They're all screwed up too, what are they going to do?"
Right now the family is trying to secure the rights to the Neverland Ranch as a new 'Graceland' for Jackson fans.
