Who let Alan Keyes in?

Sure, I voted for Keyes in the 1996 primary in Pennsylvania, [It was an easy choice - Dole already had the nomination wrapped up before it was time to vote in PA] but that he was invited to today's debate in Iowa when he's not been on the map at all in this race... This debate is the first I knew he was 'running', and after his performance in the Illinois senate race against Obama as a last-minute fill in candidate - one must question his message delivery. He's got great ideas, but poor delivery can kill a candidacy.

One wonders why they are having this in the middle in the day - don't they know that the average voter has to work during the day? Jim Geraghty of NRO's The Campaign Spot has been live-blogging the debate, and has some thoughts.  He even notes that Fred is showing signs of life!  His wrap up calls Thompson the winner, Romney the runner up.

FNC online was showing live video, wonder if they will reair it in the evening? The Des Moines Register was the moderator of the event, and the source feed is from Iowa Public Television, so perhaps some after coverage might be there.
