Workflow Reminder

We have a new writer aboard, who will try his hand at video game and movie reviews. Please welcome him aboard everyone. His handle is Trizaic, and he's a Brit -- like Rojo. I'll let him introduce himself.

In the meantime, here are some links that may be of help to Trizaic:

Writer's Workshop

A basic explanation of how our workflow system works here. The short story is that myself and Relantel will act as editors, meaning that nothing really gets published without (at least) a brief review. Basically, when you create any new content you must set the workflow 'state'. The default state is 'Draft'. So if you write something and hit the 'Save' button you aren't likely to see it appear on the website. You've got to set the workflow 'state' to 'Ready for Review'.

Users with the permission level of 'writers' are able to create content as either:

1. Draft
2. Ready for Review

But there are two more states, they are, in order:

1. Draft
2. Ready for Review
3. Needs Work
4. Approved

If you save your work as a draft, you can click on the 'Workflow' link at any point and review your drafts and tweak them until you are ready to change the state of the content to 'Ready for Review' -- then the editors (Rel and myself) receive email alerts, and we review what you've got.

We are gentle editors, really.

After we review we will either change the workflow state of your work to 'Approved' or 'Needs Work' -- along with comments if necessary. Use this process to help us to help you to help us to help you.

I hope that's clear.

For example, if you've written something but aren't sure what else it needs, just write what you have and leave us notes on where you need help.

Check the link above for some more tips on how it all works.
