This near-5 minute ad/speech from President Reagan could very well be applied to today’s politics, with Obama wanting to undo the Bush tax cuts, and stand in opposition to all that has been gained in recent years.

William F. Buckley, Jr. called Solzhenitsyn as “the Soviet Union’s cultural Czechoslovakia.” This PDF is 16 pages from National Review’s October 12, 1973, issue. NR has their own editorial on his death here, noting how Gulag Archipelago was a crushing blow to the Soviet Union.
“The World Split Apart”, a classic speech of his delivered at Harvard in 1978 has been transcribed by a group at Columbia. It was printed in NR at the time, and upon its 25th anniverary 5 years ago, NR’s Jay Nordlinger had this commentary.
