Is there a better pro-life advocate than this?

I read the transcript of this last night in The Corner, but here is the video:

From the transcript as it appeared in The Corner:

Ennui over. Interesting things may or may not lie within.

Quick edit: RIP Paul Newman

Two moons have turned since I last posted here and, in an effort to stop this blog becoming the Krog and Rel show, I have decided to cast away my lack of enthusiasm and write something. During my time away there have been a great many things in the news and elsewhere upon which I have had thoughts that may have been considered werthy for posting. Some even got as far as being first-drafted in my head before I just got too tired or distracted to post and they drifted out of the headlines or public interest. I have a lot to say about Sarah Palin, for example. Or French writers. Or the untold delights of my new Sunday hobby of drinking wine and reading the paper all day. This post, just like my last, is unfortunately about film. But it perhaps heralds the dawn of a brave new posting era. One which will inevitably end.

Ohio Farmer carves a likeness of Sarah Palin in his fields

From this WMAL story comes this photo by Duke Wheeler of a 16 acre corn field amongst his Wheeler Farms:
Sarah America carved into a field in Ohio
The farmer had plenty of time on his hands, apparently. Is this a good or bad sign for the Ohio farming industry?

Democrats Treat Sarah Palin Like Plutonium

CLINTON CANCEL RALLY APPEARANCE AT U.N. AFTER DISCOVERING PALIN WILL ATTEND

WASHINGTON — Hillary Clinton has pulled out of an appearance at a New York rally next week to protest Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, her aides say because she doesn’t want to be seen alongside Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a “partisan” event.

The Democrats can’t allow Hillary and Sarah to be seen together, for fear that the two together will form a critical mass that will allow ordinary American women to positively compare Hillary to Gov. Palin. Again, another very ham-handed attempt by the Democrats to kill Palin candidacy. So what’s more important to Democrats, protesting the leader of a terrorist-sponsoring country, or scoring political points? I think it’s the latter, as usual.

The full Gibson interview of Palin

Mark Levin has the full transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview of Gov. Sarah Palin here. He has highlighted the sections that were edited out of the TV airing, in some cases completely changing the meaning of it all. In at least one case, they omitted part of Gibson’s question, Palin’s answer, and Gibson’s next question, such that on TV, it gives the appearance that the later answer was to the earlier question, then cuts off part of the answer that aired, and the followup question and answer as well. In other places, they have edited out parts of answers.

A prime example below the fold - the bold underlined text is the edited-out part of the interview.

BP at the McCain/Palin rally in Fairfax, Virginia

I represented BP today at the McCain/Palin rally at Van Dyck Park in Fairfax (City), Virginia. It was arranged on short notice, with word going out two days in advance via several email lists, including McCain’s own Virginia list, and Attorney General Bob McDonnell’s list. I found out by the latter. Tickets were required, but they never really did check them, or at least did not check ours. Tickets were available from various GOP campaign offices throughout the state, and online on McCain’s own website.

Michael Reagan on Sarah Palin: “Wecome back, Dad”

This says a lot, coming from President Reagan’s own son, Michael Reagan:

I’ve been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we’d never see his like again because he was one of a kind.

I was wrong!

Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he’s a she.

And what a she!

In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my Dad’s indomitable spirit and sent it soaring above the convention center, shooting shock waves through the cynical media’s assigned spaces and electrifying the huge audience with the kind of inspiring rhetoric we haven’t heard since my Dad left the scene.
